Early this year, Despres, Schwartz & Geoghegan joined Cohen & Frankel and Law Offices of Martin Oberman in filing an amended lawsuit arguing that the 17th amendment rights of Illinois citizens are violated by the State of Illinois’ refusal to conduct a special election to fill the Senate seat that is temporarily occupied by Roland Burris.
